Staying connected to the church is vitally important
In today's busy world, it's harder than ever before to keep up-to-date with events and schedules.
Our emails run the gamut from weekly newsletters like this to prayer life updates and quick meeting reminders. Text messages are reserved for meeting reminders or special worship updates.
Be sure you've registered for all FBCPF emails and text messages. (If you received this article via an email, chances are you have that part covered, but if you're not receiving the occasional meeting text message, you didn't add your phone number to the form.)
NOTICE: Church staff cannot send you text messages without your express approval.

Social Media at FBC-Pigeon Forge
How we communicate with church members and friends is an important part of our ministry here at First Baptist. It is vital that everyone stays "in the know" about prayers and praises and meetings and events.
We connect with members, friends, and those seeking out places of worship is via social media: Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, even Pinterest. [Last month, we received over 500 clicks on our website from folks searching out our church in Pigeon Forge!]
At First Baptist Church, Wendy Freels creates posts for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (X), and maintains the church website while Doug Sawyer manages Facebook Live and YouTube feeds. Beth Hatfield, our ministry assistant, sends out prayer requests and meeting notices several times a week.
How we use social media seems to change almost daily and businesses worldwide -- including small religious organizations like ours -- have to adjust accordingly. Here are some of the changes that are happening to Facebook Live and YouTube.

Facebook Live recordings will disappear after 30 days
Starting June 29, Facebook will remove all our Facebook Live videos posted before June 1st. If there is a video there that you'd like to keep, please be sure to download it to your personal computer before June 29. In the future, Facebook Live videos will be online for 30 days only.
How we record worship for YouTube
We have had several instances where YouTube warned us about copyright issues on our uploaded videos. While we have the correct licenses to livestream and publish lyrics and music, YouTube doesn't recognize that fact. To avoid further issues -- and possible sanctions on our channel -- Doug is uploading only the sermon part of our worship services. If you wish to download an entire worship service, you can do that via the Facebook Live feed. See the note about about that.
